Business Overview

In 1970s, CNOOC (China National Offshore Oil Corporation)built up the first diving team for offshore oil development. Up to now, diving section has been growing up as one of the most important businesses of COOEC. The diving section can provide diverse kinds of services such as underwater facilities installation, inspection and repairing, subsea pipelines and cables inspection as well as emergency repairing, subsea pipelines pre-testing, post-trenching, offshore oil field facilities decommissioning and so on.

In recent 5 years, COOEC diving team completes 10 subsea pipeline laying and spool pieces installation by annual average, and passes though the pressure testing by 100%.

In 2017, Nrunei Hengyi Project, the diving team finished 1 subsea pipe layout and spool pieces installation with the size of 44". Now that, in Dangote Refinery and Petrochemicals project COOEC diving team is carrying on 9 subsea pipes layout, 5 underwater PLEM and SPM installation in the depth of 20m to 40m.

Underwater inspection and repairing of offshore facilities

COOEC’s services for vessel and underwater structures inspection as well as repairing started in 1980s. As the first company which has been working on offshore platform structures surface and underwater inspection and safety assessment system research, COOEC’s service covers all sea areas from north to south China, and the clients like CNOOC Tianjin Branch, Eastern Company of Southern Sea, Western Company of Southern Sea, Penglai Oil Field of Conocophillips, CFD Oil Field of Kerr-McGee Corporation, Shengli Oil Field all highly praise for COOEC. COOEC take responsibilities of many scientific researches such as underwater inspection, wet welding, local dry welding, and friction welding.

During these 5 years, COOEC has been completing 15 UW inspection projects. During 2017 to 2019, PL19-3 Oil field annual inspection for underwater structures, COOEC’s diving team completed the tasks including GVI, CVI, thickness measuring, potential measuring, ACFM crack inspection, seabed survey etc.

In 2017, BZ13-1 project, COOEC completed non-stop production subsea pipe replacement by hot-tap and stopple technics.

Subsea pipeline pre-commissioning and post-trenching services

In recent 5 years, COOEC annually completed 200km subsea pipes layout, pre-testing and post-trenching.

Diving services for offshore facility decommissioning

COOEC business for large underwater facilities decommissioning originated in 2012, which includes decommissioning of FPSO, platforms etc.

In Oct, 2019, COOEC decommissioned 2 platforms for CEC Company in Thailand Gulf.

Now that COOEC is carrying on the TFPSO de-connection work for Chevron in Tantawan oil field of Thailand.

The diving section belongs to COOEC Offshore Oil Engineering Technology Services Branch. And Company is one of the largest and strongest companies in engineering diving industry of China.

Company now has 42 registered divers including 33 ADCI diving supervisors who maintain lots of diving experience and underwater inspection quality and certificates. Besides, there are 2 level-2 ACFM inspection personnel and 4 level-1 inspection personnel. Also, diving engineers, technicians, diving doctors and other professionals are in this diving section.

Company has a complete and mature diving management system. After being the ADCI member in 2007, Company subsequently won the underwater inspection certificates from CCS, ABS, DNV.GL. Company now is the governing unit of China Rescue Industry Association Emergency Rescue Professional Committee.

Company adheres to the best industry practical standards, and makes the best effort to complete the management system. Now that Company is working on applying to be a diving member of IMCA.
