On May 20, the COOEC (Offshore Oil Engineering Co., Ltd.) CRPO149 Project carried out a Traffic Safety Promotion activity at Fuel Way Gas Station in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. Representatives from the client Saudi Aramco, on-site staff of COOEC in Saudi Arabia, and relevant staff of the local gas station attended the activity.

At the opening of the activity, representatives from Saudi Aramco and COOEC CRPO149 project delivered speeches successively, elaborating on the original intention and core significance of organizing this traffic safety promotion activity. During the activity, representatives communicated face-to-face with passing drivers and residents of surrounding communities. They explained Saudi traffic rules and driving standards in plain language.

Over 60 copies of traffic safety manuals and safe driving guidance leaflets were handed out. Meanwhile, traffic safety supplies including safety warning triangles and first-aid kits were presented to participants, guiding them to abandon bad traffic habits, and abide by safe driving principles.

The person in charge of the local Fuel Way Gas Station expressed sincere gratitude for the activity. Mr. Diyab, a Saudi employee of the COOEC, also took an active part. He said: “A safe traffic environment requires joint efforts from everyone of us. I am delighted and honored to do what I can for my hometown!”

In recent years, COOEC has actively honored its social commitments in the field of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) at overseas site. It has successively launched multiple public welfare activities in Saudi Arabia, such as Beach Cleaning, Desert Tree-planting and Traffic Safety Promotion, which have gain high recognition from the local government, communities and the project owners, helping to establish a positive corporate image. With excellent performance in developing the health management system construction, COOEC has won three HSE awards from Saudi Aramco: Emerging the Contractor Safety Performance Award, the Contractor Health and Wellbeing Award, and the Excellence in Health Program Implementation Award.

Moving forward, the CRPO149 Project will keep connecting with local communities and local society,and rolling out more  targeted public welfare activities suited to local needs. It will continuously enhance COOEC’s visibility and reputation in Saudi Arabia, and set a fine example for Chinese enterprises in fulfilling overseas social responsibilities.
