It is reported on July 18 that 12 deep water suction anchors with the maximum penetration depth and the largest mooring load in China have been installed in the secondary development project of Liuhua 11-1/4-1 Oilfield under an EPC contract of China Offshore Oil Engineering Company (COOEC). This marks a significant breakthrough in the field of construction and installation of floating facility mooring system of deep water oil and gas field in China.
A “deepwater jacket platform + cylindrical floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit” scheme is adopted for the secondary development project of Liuhua 11-1/4-1 Oilfield, where the suction anchors are installed for the offshore mooring of cylindrical FPSO. These suction anchors, independently designed, constructed and installed by China, have a design mooring load of 2500 tons for a single suction anchor, a height of 22 meters, a diameter of 6.5 meters, and a penetration depth of 21 meters. Besides, these suction anchors were installed by the ship named HAI YANG SHI YOU 286.
In the project, an early warning method is adopted, by which the internal-wave current monitoring device is furnished to minimize the interference of internal-wave currents to ships and construction operations. Specifically, enormous difficulties concerning heading control, great height and large penetration inclination of suction anchor have been overcome using the loaded penetration method, inclination correcting method and reverse azimuth control method. In this way, the precision control and operation efficiency have been improved in the process of suction anchor penetration, thus making contribution to 100% success rates of one-time in-place and penetration of suction anchor.
