Installation of the central platform of Bozhong 19-6 gas field completed

On July 19th, the float-over installation of the central platform of Bozhong 19-6 gas field which is the first 100 billion cubic meters gas field in Bohai Bay and contracted by COOEC was completed in the central area of Bohai Bay.

The central platform of Bozhong 19-6 gas field is an 8-legged multifunctional integrated offshore oil and gas platform that integrates production and living. The platform is 32 meters high, 65 meters long and 56 meters wide, and can accommodate 120 people working and living simultaneously.

The platform was installed by a floating method since the topside thereof weighs over 12,000 tons, which exceeds the limit of the lifting capacity of the ship floating crane. The operation region is located in a dense area of oil and gas platforms with a complex submarine environment.

The COOEC operation team organized technical disclosure and risk analysis, rehearsed various working procedures such as mooring system distribution, motion monitoring, load transfer, and precise positioning.

The COOEC operation team also carried out route surveys for on-site construction, accurately calculated and designed the anchoring position and the anchor chain direction, and hanged buoys across pipelines to avoid scraping. In the float-over process, a separation buffer device and a pile leg butt-coupling device were installed to effectively mitigate the collision between barges and jackets during load transfer of the topside, thereby ensuring the safe and stable float-over operation. Finally, through the float-over operation for more than 10 hours, the accuracy error of docking was minimized to no more than 5 millimeters.
