On September 18, the last shipment of jackets for the Seagreen Offshore Wind Power Project (hereinafter referred to as the “Seagreen Project”) constructed in COOEC Zhuhai Yard was delivered for sail-out at the wharf of Zhuhai Gaolan Port, marking the successful delivery of all the 34 jackets for the world’s deepest suction type offshore wind farm.
The Seagreen Project is located 27 kilometers off the coast of Angus in the east of Scotland, where the water depth ranges between 53 m and 58 m. The Seagreen wind farm is a fixed-bottom offshore wind farm that is the largest in Scotland and deepest in the world. The scope of work for the Phase I project includes the construction of 114 wind turbines and related power transmission facilities. COOEC-Fluor Heavy Industries Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of COOEC, has undertaken the construction of 34 jackets for the wind farm with a total weight of about 70,000 tons. The total height of jackets delivered this time is more than 93 m.
The project team has strengthened safety management and achieved a safety milestone of 6,000,000 worked man-hours with zero injury. In addition, the construction team has implemented a series of innovative construction measures, such as visual construction of transition sections, standardized construction of complex nodes, and construction of main production lines, optimized various construction processes, techniques and methods, and realized 3D visual dimensional control of large wind farm jackets for the first time. In terms of quality control, pass rate and dimensional control have exceeded the requirements set out in the owner’s specifications.
