On October 26, it was learned that Liuhua 16-2 Oilfield has been successfully put into operation in the South China Sea, two months ahead of the original schedule, marking that after Liuhua 20-2 Oilfield was put into operation on September 20, the general contracting project of Liuhua 16-2 Oilfield Group has reached a new major milestone.
The general contracting project of Liuhua 16-2 Oilfield Group is the first self-support integrated development deepwater oilfield project in China, as well as CNOOC "Seven-year Action Plan" Increasing Reserve and Production Project. It includes three "Sister" oilfields, Liuhua 20-2 Oilfield, Liuhua 16-2 Oilfield and Liuhua 21-2 Oilfield.
As the second oilfield put into operation of oilfield group project, Liuhua 16-2 Oilfield is 404 meters deep, adopting the full subsea production system development model, also the first time COOEC independently undertakes the complete deep-water oil and gas field water facilities installation work, including 1 set of 8 wellhead subsea production system, 2 submarine pipelines with about 23.1km length, 3 submarine cables with about 23.1km length and other operation tasks.
The mechanical completion of Liuhua 16-2 Oilfield was finalized on September 28. Thereinto, deep-water installation operations such as umbilical cable and standpipe were all completed independently, and a new breakthrough was achieved in the "Bottlenecks" technology of deep-water installation. The successful implementation of the project has accumulated rich deep-water installation experience for the company, which will further improve our deep-water oil and gas development engineering technology system with independent intellectual property rights, and also make important contributions to promoting our deep-sea oil and gas resource development core technical capacity building and safeguarding national energy security.
It is reported that, as a new oilfield group with the largest development output in The South China Sea, the third operated oilfield of Liuhua 16-2 Oilfield Group general contracting project, Liuhua 21-2 Oilfield is expected to come into operation in 2021, which will provide important support and guarantee for the oil and gas energy supply in the Greater Bay Area of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.
