COOEC Finished the Pipe Laying in Thousand-meter Deep Water Again

At present, the 12" pipeline of Liuhua 29-1 Project was ended and stably landed on the seabed of about 1,100 m. This is another time that “Offshore Oil 201” successfully finished the pipe laying in thousand-meter deep water after the laying of 6" subsea pipeline of Liwan 3-1 Project in 2013.

In the global ocean energy engineering field, the capability of reaching the operating water depth of 500 m or not is regarded as a sign of dividing deep-water operation and shallow-water operation. The level of equipment, operation technology and management ideas required for deep-water pipe-laying operation is entirely different from that required for shallow-water pipe-laying, so the capability of finishing operation as specified in deep water is also regarded as the benchmark of assessing the operation capability of an ocean energy engineering company.

In 2013, the deep-water pipe-laying floating crane “Offshore Oil 201” of the Company attempted the deep-water pipe-laying operation in Liwan 3-1 Project for the first time and successfully finished laying the 79 km subsea pipeline. During the operation, it created new records repeatedly in daily pipe-laying efficiency, with the maximum laying depth reaching 1,409 m, which created the new records in subsea pipeline laying depth in China, accomplished great breakthrough in deep-sea pipe-laying operation and also marked the formation of the deep-water pipe-laying capability of the Company.

After 6 years, “Offshore Oil 201” again successfully finished the deep-water pipe-laying task after upgrading.

It is reported that there are totally two pipelines for Liuhua 29-1 Project, both of which are deep-water operation.
