COOEC Delivers Canadian LNG Modular Factory from Zhuhai

Date:2023-06-02

On May 29, the completion ceremony of the peripheral engineering of the Canadian LNG project was held at the COOEC-Fluor site, marking the company's successful delivery of all modules in the global pioneering project of integrated construction of the LNG modular factory. This achievement bears significant implications for enhancing China's manufacturing capabilities in clean energy engineering and supporting the green, low-carbon development in the global energy industry.

The Canadian LNG project is a world-class LNG project jointly invested and constructed by five leading international oil companies. The completed Phase I peripheral engineering involves 157 modules with a total weight of approximately 108,000 tons.

The project innovatively applies a myriad of new technologies and processes, including integrated construction and gas welding without back protection. This has significantly improved the construction efficiency, with all 157 modules completed in just 40 months. The project has also set an impressive safety record of over 20 million "no-loss accidents," successfully achieving the goal of "zero defect delivery." All quality compliance rates and accuracy controls have met or exceeded the requirements of the owner's specifications.

Over the years, the COOEC-Fluor site has adhered to a green, low-carbon development strategy and continuously enhanced its green equipment manufacturing capabilities. They have completed a series of green energy equipment projects with broad industry impact, including the country's first "double-hundred" far-offshore floating wind power platform "COOEC Guanlan," British wind power, Hong Kong LNG, and Hong Kong Integrated Waste Management Facilities. The site has become the "cradle" of green equipment manufacturing in the Greater Bay Area.
