Asia’s First Deepwater Jacket Platform “Haiji-1” Successfully Completed

Date:2022-07-20

On July 15, 2022, “Haiji-1”, Asia’s first deepwater jacket platform located in the Pearl River Mouth Basin, was mechanically completed and ready for operation.

“Haiji-1” is a 300m water-depth fixed oil drilling platform independently designed, constructed and installed by COOEC with integrated drilling, production, and living functions. It is 340.5m high and consists of a 30,000 T jacket, eight topside structures and other core facilities. Its construction has been completed in about 28 months.

“Haiji-1” is designed considering extreme sea states with a 100-year return period. COOEC’s project team has overcome multiple challenges such as super-strong internal currents in the South China Sea, developed two world firsts’ technologies for the overall design of deepwater jackets and 21 advanced domestic  initiative technologies, and made comprehensive improvements in its deepwater jacket design and construction technologies covering the basic theory, structure type, design philosophy, construction techniques, operation and maintenance.

“Haiji-1” is planned to be put into operation in the second half of 2022 to serve the Lufeng Oilfields Regional Development Project. After the project is put into operation, the peak daily oil production can reach 6,500 tons.
