Caofeidian 6-4 Project Achieves Mechanical Completion Target Ahead of Schedule

Date:2021-03-11

On March 8, Caofeidian 6-4 Oilfield Platform successfully finished the last airworthiness flight test. According to the unanimous confirmation of the experts of the completion inspection team, the platform meets the mechanical completion condition and is approved to be issued with a certificate. This indicates that Caofeidian 6-4 Oilfield Development Project has achieved the mechanical completion target 48 days ahead of schedule.

As one of the key projects for Bohai Oilfield to realize the “7-Year Action Plan”, Caofeidian 6-4 Project will reach an annual peak output of nearly one million cubic meters after putting into production. The CEPA platform of the project is a wellhead type central platform with 8 legs and 12 piles. The entire module is about 12000t in weight. On January 25, it took 16 hours to successfully install the module in place via the floating support method, which breaks the time record of installation via the floating support method in Bohai Bay. The successful floating support operation this time is of great strategic importance in the marine engineering construction field of Bohai Oilfield during the “14th Five-Year Plan” period.

During the working period, the project team of the company overcame adverse factors such as winter-time construction, overtime work in Spring Festival and the Covid-19 epidemic, pressed ahead the offshore work in an orderly and efficient way, achieved the mechanical completion target ahead of schedule, and laid a solid foundation for the on-schedule production of the oilfield.
