The First Self-support Deepwater Oilfield Group Development Project In Our Country Has Been Put Into Production.

On September 20th, Liuhua 16-2 Oilfield Group Development Project (hereinafter referred to as Liuhua 16-2 Project), China's first self-operated deepwater oilfield group development project contracted by Offshore Oil Engineering Co., Ltd. for the EPCI (engineering, procurement, construction and installation), which lasted for 26 months, was successfully put into production.

During the implementation of the project, our country completed the EPCI project general contracting of the FPSO (floating production, storage and offloading device) with the maximum water depth, the most complex system and the largest structure in the domestic application for the first time, in which we independently built the single-point mooring system integrating the world's most complex technology and the highest precision, and independently undertook the complete installation of underwater facilities in deep-sea oil and gas fields for the first time, marking a new breakthrough in the high-end manufacturing capacity and deep-water construction technology of large FPSO in China.

Liuhua 16-2 Project is located in the Pearl River Mouth Basin in the South China Sea with an average water depth of 420 m, which has made a record of the maximum water depth and the largest number of the offshore oilfield development in our country, and is currently the new oilfield group with the biggest volume in South China Sea. Different from traditional oil and gas field development projects, Liuhua 16-2 Project adopts a full underwater production and development model without the need to build conventional offshore oil and gas production platforms. The oil and gas buried in deep water is tied back to the "offshore oil and gas processing plant" - "Offshore Oil 119" FPSO through the underwater production system. The overall development design of the project is extremely challenging, and both the technical difficulty and complexity rank among the top in the world.

 

During the land construction process of "Offshore Oil 119" FPSO, Offshore Oil Engineering Co., Ltd. developed the advantages of EPCI general contracting management, successively broke through more than 10 key technologies, completed more than 30 process innovations, and refreshed the international record for the fastest integration of similar single-point systems.

The project team has completed the tie-back work of 9 mooring chains efficiently within only 8 days, which created a new record for installing the largest deepwater anchoring system in China, so that the “offshore oil and gas super factory” has successfully settled down in the South China Sea. During the whole offshore installation process, Offshore Oil Engineering Co., Ltd. filled more than 10 technical gaps in domestic deepwater construction, such as the first deepwater PLET (pipeline end terminal) side installation, vertical laying of deepwater tubing cables, deepwater dynamic tubing cable installation, comprehensively autonomous underwater tubing cable production system debugging.
