COOEC Celebrated the 99th Anniversary of the Founding of Communist Party of China (CPC) with "Two Advantages and One First" Commendation and Party Secretary's Party Lecture

On June 28, at the approaching of July 1, COOEC held a grand ceremony to celebrate the 99th anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC) with "Two Advantages and One First" Commendation. Yu Yi, Secretary of the CPC Committee and Chairman of CNOOC, attended the meeting and gave Party lectures.

The meeting was hosted by Yang Jinghong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Labor Union. Yang Jinghong read out the Decision on Honoring 2018-2019 Advanced Grass-roots Party Organizations, Outstanding Communist Party Members and Outstanding Party Workers. From 2018 to 2019, the company Party organizations at all levels and the general Party members thoroughly studied and carried out The Xi Jinping Thoughts on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and The Spirit of The Second, Third and Fourth Plenary Sessions of the 19th CPC Central Committee, continued to strengthen the Party's construction, strictly implemented the comprehensively strengthening Party self-discipline request, made solid progress on Theme Education of "Remain True to Our Original Aspiration and Keep Our Mission Firmly in Mind", transformed the Party's political advantages into the core competitiveness of enterprises, given full play to the role of Party organizations and Party members as vanguards and models in overcoming difficulties in production and operation, and a large number of advanced collectives and individuals have emerged. Company leaders gave prizes to advanced grass-roots Party organizations, outstanding Party workers and outstanding Party members. Afterwards, all the Party members reviewed their vows.

After the commendation, Yu Yi gave a vivid and down-to-earth "July 1" Party lectures to Party members, from three levels of "How to see, How to do and How to work", combining the company's reality with his own perception. He stressed that, adhering to the leadership of the Party and strengthening the Party building, is the glory and honor and unique advantages of state-owned enterprises, is the basic requirement for state-owned enterprises to become an important pillar of the Party in governing and rejuvenating the country and a supporting power, is the fundamental guarantee to promote the development of state-owned enterprises with high quality. We must always carry out the "Three Objections", the "Five Perseverance" and the "Six Strengths". He pointed out that, in order to promote Party construction with production and business operation deeply integrated, the Xi Jinping Thoughts on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era should be the guide, promoting enterprise high-quality development should be the main line, integrating Party's leadership, Party's construction in the whole process and various aspects of enterprise reform and development, giving full play to the role of Party organizations and Party members as vanguards and models, strengthening the economic competitiveness of enterprises, innovation and control, influence and ability to resist risks.

In the Party lecture, Yu Yi pointed out the direction for Party organizations at all levels and all Party members, according to the new situation, tasks and challenges faced by the company. First, we need to find the key, the method, the answer, understand the situation, tasks, and shoulder the responsibility in the Xi Jinping Thoughts on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. We need to adhere to the "1534" development strategy and the "1235" development strategy of the Group, scientifically plan response measures, and do a good job in implementing our work. Second, it is necessary to strengthen the sense of responsibility of leading cadres, encourage the majority of employees to contribute value based on their positions, and temper the super hard style of cadres and employees. Third, we should strengthen the guarantee of positive incentives and negative disciplinary constraints. By boldly promoting cadres and strengthening exemplary leadership, we will strive to create a favorable situation in which everyone brings out his or her best, and make good use of the mechanism of punishment and restraint, so that it will become the norm for "the competent to go up, the mediocre to go down, and the inferior to be eliminated".
