COOEC Assists to Put 350 Thousand Tons of World-class "Offshore Oil and Gas Plant" Into Operation

Date:2020-07-22

At 6:25 PM on 25th June Brazil local time, Petrobras P70 FPSO (Floating Production Storage Offloading), which is mainly contracted and autonomously integrated by COOEC, successfully produced oil for the first time, marking the official operation of the 350 Thousand Tons of World-class "Offshore Oil and Gas Plant".

P70 FPSO is one of the key projects for CNOOC to strengthen energy cooperation with countries along "One Belt and One Road". In December 2019, after 18 months of construction, P70 was successfully delivered in Qingdao, 90 days ahead of the construction period agreed in the contract, setting a new record for the delivery speed of the international ultra-large FPSO. Earlier this year, P70 traveled across the oceans to reach Rio DE Janeiro, Brazil. After one month, P70 successfully arrived at Santos Basin pre-salt oil field where it was commissioned and began commissioning operation of offshore connection.

Since March this year, the offshore commissioning of P70 Project has been temporarily suspended due to the COVID-19 outbreak. On the premise of strictly implementing CNOOC's deployment requirements for overseas epidemic prevention and control, project staff based in Brazil kept close communication with Petrobras, and completed the signing of 77 subsystems, elimination of more than 2,000 items and other works.

The commissioning of two world-class "Offshore Oil and Gas Plants", P67 and P70, has established recognizable brand of "Made by CNOOC" in the highly competitive floating body market in South America, marking that China has reached international advanced level in the independent construction and integration capability of ultra-large FPSO.
