The First Intelligent Manufacturing Base for Offshore Oil and Gas Production Equipment of China was Commenced in Tianjin

On December 26, the first intelligent manufacturing base for offshore oil and gas production equipment of China invested, constructed and operated by COOEC was officially commenced in the area connecting to port of Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone. Led by informatization, digitization and intelligentization, the base centers on intelligent manufacturing and other advanced technologies for pilot exploration to gradually construct the whole-process “intelligent COOEC manufacturing” system from R&D, design and manufacturing to service, and promote the offshore oil and gas production equipment manufacturing industry of China to transform and upgrade toward high-end product structure, thus achieving the high-quality leaping development from “COOEC manufacturing” to “COOEC intelligent manufacturing”.

Positioned as a first-class intelligent manufacturing base for offshore oil and gas production equipment in the industry, the base owns a planned area of 575,100 m2, frontage length of 1,631 m and designed capacity of about 71,000 structural tons a year. The base is planned to be constructed in two phases. Phase I project is expected to be constructed and put into operation in September 2021 and the whole project will be completed and put into operation by the end of 2022.

As the first intelligent manufacturing base for offshore oil and gas production equipment planned in China, the base will accelerate the new-generation information technology and artificial intelligence technology such as IoT, big data and Cloud computation via “Internet+”, “digitalization+” and “intelligence+”, integrate with the traditional offshore oil and gas production equipment manufacturing industry, and emphasize on intelligent manufacturing and other advanced technologies for pilot exploration to gradually construct the whole-process “intelligent COOEC manufacturing” system from R&D, design and manufacturing to service.

The base will be constructed by following the concept of “planning as a whole and implementing by steps” to finish the construction of 3 automatic COOEC production lines and 1 intelligent 3D warehouse in preliminary stage, realize cutting and blanking of plates, workshop prefabrication of single panels and process pipeline, automatic upgrading of medium and small materials storage and other production links, and gradually promote the intelligentization of the whole production chain by drawing upon the experience gained on key points. In future, the base will lay the emphasis on developing oil and gas production platform and topside, FPSO module, LNG module and other high-end COOEC products by following the regional positioning of “guaranteeing the north energy base and radiating the East Asia and North Asia area”, to become a comprehensive base integrating such functions as intelligent manufacturing of ocean engineering products, intelligent guarantee for oil and gas field operation & maintenance, and original innovation and R&D platform for ocean engineering technology.

Offshore oil and gas production equipment manufacturing industry is an important part of offshore equipment manufacturing industry in China. In recent years, the offshore oil and gas production equipment manufacturing industry of China has obtained a series of breakthrough technologies in deepwater equipment, FPSO floating body and LNG module. COOEC successively constructed many large-scale offshore engineering manufacturing bases with total area of nearly 3.5 million m2 in Tanggu of Tianjin Municipality, Qingdao of Shandong Province and Zhuhai of Guangdong Province, realizing the base layout across the country for functional complementation to cover shallow and deepwater project and develop the global market.

In recent years, COOEC successively undertook many international large-scale engineering projects, including Russia Yamal LNG Project, and Brazil FPSO P67/P70, as well as many domestic deepwater oil and gas field projects including Lingshui 17-2, and Liuhua 29-1, and owned a series of core technologies such as super-large offshore platform project EPC capability, 1,500 m deep subsea pipeline laying capability. During the “13th Five-year Plan”, centered on the rapid development needs of intelligent manufacturing in ocean engineering industry, COOEC actively promoted the application of such advanced technologies as digital virtual simulation technology, intelligent safety management, full-automatic welding technology and intelligent warehousing logistics, and accumulated rich practical experiences in intelligent offshore oil and gas production equipment manufacturing field.

The acceleration of the integration between the new-generation information technology and artificial intelligence technology and offshore oil and gas production equipment manufacturing industry, and vigorous promotion of intelligent manufacturing can quickly improve the construction quality and efficiency of ocean engineering equipment and effectively lower the manufacturing cost and resource consumption, which is an effective way of enhancing the core competitiveness of offshore oil and gas production equipment manufacturing industry in China and also refers to a critical approach of constructing the international manufacturing industry competitiveness in China.

Next, COOEC will actively dock with the advantageous resources within the industry, deeply implement the important instructions and reply of the General Secretary Xi Jinping on energy industry, fully implement China’s deployment and requirements of “maritime power” strategy, continuously optimize the resource configuration with enterprise as the main body and market as the orientation, and carry out independent and joint breakthroughs in key and core technologies of intelligent manufacturing, so as to achieve the informatization, digitization and intelligentization of the whole industry, promote the offshore oil and gas production equipment manufacturing industry of China to transform and upgrade toward high-end product structure, and achieve the high-quality leaping development from “COOEC manufacturing” to “COOEC intelligent manufacturing”.
